I made a small modification to my pack copying the Osprey Stow-on-the-Go feature which allows you to stow you hiking poles to your pack without having to take the pack off.

Exactly what I was looking for. I loved the osprey feature but wanted the mariposa. Thx for providing this tip!

I did it! The only difference I made was using a cord lock at the top to pull the handles tight together. Thanks, Peter!!

Osprey really did make a brilliantly simple innovation. Nice to be able to bring that convenience to all packs.

Ah yes! I have a small Osprey Sylvia that I’m adapting for a mountain trek. This is exactly what I needed. Thanks!

Thanks for the video, Peter. I am a recent trekking pole convert and have been looking for ideas on this very thing as my backpack does not have those fancy new loops attachments. I was thinking about using paracord because I have it laying around but I now think shockcord would be best. Cheers.

Great idea.  I'll have to see if I can modify your idea to my ULA Circuit.

I tried this method, but my arms kept rubbing on the poles when I swing them as I walk, no matter how close I try to stow them into the side of the pack.

I've been thinking about ways to do this but never looked into it. I have the same pack. How did you attach the shock cord? Did you just tie it together? What was the length of cord? Thanks!
