How to Fix Broken Pin on Fanatec Quick Release (Wheel Hub)

If your wheel quit working and the red "start" button lights up in a circle, your Fanatec hub probably has a broken pin. Replacing the entire cable is how you get back on track. This is an easy job for anyone who has ever successfully swapped out a smartphone battery or installed a HDD, CPU or GPU into a computer.

Great video with clear step by step instructions. You may avoid dismantling the quick release by using electrical tape to keep the connector folded and enabling it to easily pass through.

Nice guide Ben! I used to have the csl elite and got tired of Fanatec’s flimsy quickrelease. Upgraded to a Simagic Alpha which uses NRG 2.0 style quick release. Super sturdy and I never looked back perhaps you may want to look into Simagic or Moza wheelbases

What did you tell them to get this part shipped? They are telling me they don't ship this part and it can only be repaired in their repair shop. Thank you!

Any idea what size screws you purchased to replace the broken ones? I had 2 of them break. Thanks

I'm done with Fanatec they are a terrible company and should be avoided. I Updated the drivers on my DD1 and lost all vibration effects in Dirt Rally 2 try'd to downgrade back to the older drivers with their downgrade feature in Fanatec control didn't fix it. Told fanatec about the issue they try'd to shift the blame onto my PC instead of their drivers. There was no problem before the update so it's obvious it's Fanatec's fault and they won't admit to it.

I've had problems with their so called customer support before as have many others but this is the last straw for me. These kinds of issues should not happen for such a high price. You can literally buy a simucube for around the same money as a DD1. I will not make the mistake of buying Fanatec again.

Instead of addressing genuine issues with their products they would rather argue and blame the customer even going so far as to tell outright lies anything to avoid owning up to their own faults.
