Came here after watching a video on McDonald's opening day in Moscow. Someone said he didn't like it because it isn't Russian, this made me curious to know what exactly is Russian food. To be clear, you have traditional Russian cuisine from ethnic Russians which originates from Eastern Europe, you have Tatar cuisine which has Asian and European influences, you have Buryat cuisine which is clearly Asian, you have the Chechen cuisine which is a Caucasian cuisine close to Middle Eastern specialties.
