Why was ATLANTIS Written inside the Great Pyramid of Egypt? | Ancient Architects Investigates

You’re probably never going to see a more clickbait title for an ancient history video, but I’ve managed to get Atlantis and the Great Pyramid into the title of a video, without having to make any bold claims and with keeping it factual; because yes, the word Atlantis was scrawled inside the Great Pyramid as part of a large area of historic graffiti.

Flinders Petrie made a record of the graffiti inside the pyramid and made a report to the Royal Archaeological Institute of Britain and Ireland in 1883 but made no mention of the Atlantean scrawling in the Subterranean Chamber.

The graffiti doesn't just mention Atlantis, but also the Greek god Apollo and the Greek Philosopher, orator, social reformer and miracle-worker, Apollonius of Tyana, in what looks to be a strange and somewhat esoteric inscription that was done in the year 1905.

It was around 1905 that Aleistor Crowley and his wife were doing rituals in the great pyramid and were writing about related mythisism to this, worth checking out anyway.

did you ever find about this graffiti? I am not an expert but, iirc Alister Crowley visited Egypt in 1905 and that sure looks to me like his hand writing. Now granted I have not looked at such in some 30 years and sold the books I had on the subject but it does look to be his work.

Interesting stuff Matt. Imo this could well be the handy work of Aliester Crowley, as he was in the great pyramid around this time, and performed rituals there.

Has anyone explored the possibility that this graffiti is from Alister Crowley and Rose Kelly? They stayed in Cairo for their honeymoon in 1904 and I believe they stayed through March 1905 where they were inspired to create Thelema. They were deeply educated in the occult and they stayed at least one night in the Great Pyramid. I wonder what the celestial positions were on March 12, 1905? It may not have been just any old day to whoever left it.

Your videos are amazing! The amount of research it takes is astounding. You have answered so many questions about ancient Egypt. The bizarre layout of the great pyramid had made no sense to me until your fantastic video.

At some point, can you tackle the issue of how the ancients achieved such precision in their granite work? I have mixed emotions. Probably like you used to. I want answers but I’m afraid that my desire for hidden secrets will be squashed.

Pro Tip: let the haters call you click bait, don't call yourself click bait. It's a term creators use lovingly and viewers use hatingly. Never ends well for creators to use this word. This isn't click bait btw actual click bait uses a title which has nothing to do with the content or a thumbnail that cannot be found within the content. I've personally never heard of this and I find it fascinating and I'm glad you posted about it. There's nothing baity about it when all the content is factual.
