The Hawaiian Turkeyfish is a Dwarf Lionfish with brown to reddish vertical irregular bands running down the body. The dorsal and pectoral fins are shaded brown to red with white fringey tips to disguse the sharp venomous spines.

The Hawaiian Turkeyfish is a very reserved Lionfish spending most of the time on rock faces and ledges. The Hawaiian Dwarf Turkeyfish has exceptional vision for its size and is capable of fast sprints on occasion; its venomous dorsal fins really can pack a punch. Keep lighting low. May eat tiny fish and smaller ornamental invertebrates.
