The Anbernic RG28XX honestly surprised me. I was pretty sure that I would hate it before I got it. How could I though? This shares a lot of the same DNA that the Anbernic RG35XX H has, and we all know (or in case you don't, you should totally binge my videos) how much I love that device!

It happens to us all - you just have to accept that you're getting older and buy some reading glasses lol.
I used to have excellent vision, so I struggled for a couple of years before finally giving in and trying a pair. It was like a miracle.
I still don't carry mine around with me, but I use them at work, when I am reading, and when playing on my handhelds.
It actually complicates the decision making process when buying a handheld.
Sure, you can get a tiny handheld that disappears in your pocket, but now you have to carry reading glasses too 😂

I'm using the grey one for SNES. The 2 red and 2 black buttons almost look like an SNES, even though the colors aren't the same.

Apologies, my brain has been in the gutter for too long 😂 games keep me sane, that 28xx seems so cute, thanks for the fun review

I've had mine for about 2 weeks, and I've grown to enjoy it a lot. I enjoy the feel of it, as I have smaller hands, but definitely understand it may not be comfortable for some. I play a lot of GBA, SNES, and a few PS1 games on it with little to no lag. I think it's a good handheld for those getting interested in emulation handhelds, or people who prefer the more older classics. Wonderfull review, super informative, and funny as well!

Awesome video like always! I swear it's like sitting down and talking with a close friend about stuff we enjoy! Absolutely love your videos! Really considering picking one of these up for carrying around when I go out and about. Really pocket friendly!

It looks really awesome, especially the orange. I didn't like it at first, due to absurd lack of bluetooth, while having the same SoC as 35xx plus/h/sp, etc, but now I think it has its place. I traveled recently and had only Lenovo Legion with me, with gamesir and 8bitdo m30, and found out, that I reeaaally need small, like SMALL gaming device in my pocket. I had a RG Nano, but screen was to small for intended (by me) use - JRPGs. Problem was, suprisingly, not with the text (it is large, being made for CRT TVs), but with seeng characters on the location. So now i'm thinking about gkd mini, mostly because it has aluminium case. But I'm considering 28xx too. Because there is may be a sale on aliexpress, and price could become 35-40$

I really like the RG28xx. I have several sub $100 Anbernics and I keep coming back to this one. The form factor is excellent for retro games. It can even play vertical games. Of course it won't be the same experience playing vertical games as the XXH, but it's there if you don't mind using the select and start buttons. Would you be reviewing the SP?

Ah what a shame I saw the battery in the thumbnail and thought it ran off AAs. Always looking for handhelds with replaceable standard batteries.

I'm surprised you think the build quality feels cheap and plasticy. Compared to the Bittboy v2, a similarly sized micro handheld, this feels way more solid and weighty.

When this came out, I thought about getting it because I only play NES/SNES, Nintendo Gameboy-line and the Atari systems. I have the 35XX Plus and H (I love my black 35XX-H also, the build quality is SOLID!) but this would be great when I'm away from the house and just want a fix. But I didn't buy it because I had the others. Now you've gone and made me seriously consider getting it. Well done, lol! You rule, btw!

our ancestors were more into modern gaming as swimming around in water was latest game of that time. retro gaming would be - to be lava, which they just weren't into

I wish this device atleast had Bluetooth for multi player sessions when using that HDMI out. I like the device, but I’m hoping for a “plus” version of this.

I bought a 35XX-H for my brother and have been playing with it and I wanted to get something portable for myself. I considered this one. A lot!

But after looking at all the reviews, the 28XX is just a MOUNTAIN of downsides with just ONE benefit. VS the 35XX-H you sacrifice BT+WiFI, screen size and quality, analog sticks, build quality, button size, sound quality, back rubber pads, even the PRICE is higher (on Aliexpress where I shop) all in exchange for 2cm less length and 1.2cm less height...that's it. The 28XX isn't even thinner. If maybe ONE or TWO of these things were the same or better I would have bought it, but no, it just makes no sense.

The 28XX WITH A SINGLE analog stick, opposite where the speaker is, would have been a massive improvement and I would have possibly bought it despite all the other downsides. Oh well.
