COCKPIT LAM 737-200 Nampula to Beira (2001)

In 2002 JustPlanes spent a lovely week in Mozambique filming LAM, 4 types of aircraft : Boeing 767-200 from Maputo to Lisbon, 9 flights in the cockpit of the Boeing 737-200 between Maputo, Beira, Pemba, Nampula, the and Quelimane ; 3 flights on the Embraer 120 from Maputo to Dar Es Salaam via Pemba and 3 flights on the Jetstream 41 from Maputo to Johannesburg via Beira and Vilanculos.

The resulting 3 hour cockpit film is a nice inside to the airline and also allows us to discover Mozambique from the air and on the ground.

For the people affirming it almost ran out of runway: it's mostly a visual illusion, caused by the camera lens that compresses the field of view. If you notice the landing zone markings, there was still 1/3 of the runway left

Wow look at those antique steam gauges. No EHSI, no EICAS, and no CDU/FMC to plug in the flight plan. Old fashioned dead reckoning airmanship at its most rudimentary, and most challenging. Hats off to the Mozambican pilots who fly this ancient relic through Africa's monster rain storms.
