Dr Joseph Murphy - The Secret Of I AM That I AM

In the third chapter of Exodus, we read these words: “I am the Lord, thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

“God said to Moses, ‘Come now, therefore, and I will send thee to Pharaoh that thou mayest bring forth my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.’ “Moses said unto God, ‘Who am I that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?’ Moses said unto God, ‘Behold when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, “The God of your fathers hath sent me,” and they shall say to me, “What is his name?” What shall I say unto them?’ “God said unto Moses, ‘I Am that I Am,’ and he said, ‘Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, “I Am hath sent me unto you.” Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, “the Lord of God of your fathers, the God of Isaac, the God of Abraham, and the God of Jacob hath sent me unto you. This is my name forever, and this is my memorial for all generations.’”

When you say I Am, you are announcing the presence of the living God within you. You are declaring yourself to me. I Am that I Am. The word “that” indicates that which you want to be, that which you would like to be. The second “I Am” means the answered prayer, achievement and fulfillment of your desire, dream, or aspiration. You do not repeat I Am that I Am parrot-like. You feel yourself to be what you long to be.
