Just outside the village of Asklipios, is the castle of Asklipio which is a project of the Knights of St John. The construction of the castle dates back to the 15th century and was built to protect the village of the same name. The strategic location allowed the supervision of a large part of the coastline and inland roads. The surrounding area is particularly beautiful and diverse with rich pine forests and olive groves.
