In this short film, people with disabilities – and Metrolink planners and engineers – talk about their work to make sure the Greater Manchester tram network is accessible for all.

Metrolink, which now carries over 36 million journeys a year, has been held up as a beacon of accessibility and one of the most inclusive transport systems in Europe.

The work of Transport for Greater Manchester’s award-winning Disability Design Reference Group is showcased in a new film launched by prestigious Design Council Cabe on international “World Cities Day” 2016.

TfGM’s inclusive approach to the planning, design and management of the Metrolink network, is just part of the longer ‘Inclusive Environments’ film which you can watch here:

Wow, first there was Joe Bidens acceptance speech, then the TfA video ! Superb way to get the message across. Warmth, impressive commitment and lived experience allied to skill and collaborative approaches with a bit, well rather a lot, steel thrown in for good measure. Cannot wait to get back to travelling the networks on visits to London for volunteering and leisure. Well done this is just top stuff.
