I think part of the reason why Inside Out 2 was such a huge success was 2 reasons:

1. They went absolutely all out with the marketing. You could not go 2 seconds without seeing a poster nearby or seeing a new Pixar short pop up on your feed. This actually worked for me, I went from uninterested to interested in just a couple days before its release.

2: They waited a long time for the majority of their audience to grow up and actually become teenagers which made a lot of people relate to it, especially on social media where it was being so heavily marketed.

Moana 2 doesn’t have either of those so I doubt it’ll break a billion.

Me and the whole Polynesian community are hyped for this movie and since Moana was already a great movie and represented Polynesian history really well and I hope the same happens for the new Moana movie

Just out of curiosity, HOW DID INSIDE OUT 2 BREAK EVERY RECORD? Like it wasn’t from an overly popular series or franchise, the movie wouldn’t cause nostalgia because the first one isn’t that old, it was from a studio who wasn’t known for recently having great success, SO IN WHAT WAY DID IT DO THAT GOOD?

My dad went to high school in Hawaii and I remember him beaming the whole time while watching the first one. But even though everyone says they liked inside out two I hated watching it. To me the jokes kept falling flat, the bit with that pouch thing was infuriating to watch, and it was just really cringy the entire time. I would love for Moana 2 to be good, but to me Disney has still destroyed my trust in Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar.
