LU!!!! She's fantastic! We served on the same ship together and she truly is a badass. An absolute gem to work with! Super stoked to see the Navy ladies just crushing it!

Confidence is not walking into a room thinking you’re better than everyone, its walking into a room not comparing yourself to anyone at all.

This has to be one of the best paths to wealth I've ever heard of.

If/when she retires, she can open her own practice. Many officers in the medical field work past their 20 years because they continue to get paid really well when benefits and allowances are factored in plus they don't have to deal with the business aspects of opening up their own practice.

"I bet the healthcare is top notch"

*Laughs in 13 years of active duty service with many injuries that took years to identify because of the military healthcare system*

The military does have its perks, especially on the commissioned officer side. I'd love to see an episode where they show someone from the enlisted side (like myself), like a young staff sergeant or something. Overall, great video Graham! Keep up the great work

Absolutely the best Millenium Money I have seen, really inspiring to see a young professional person with her head screwed on so well, and fast tracking herself to financial independence at such a young age. Well done Doctor !!!

Hey Graham! Dentist/dental specialist here-

To answer your question: why dont more dental students take military scholarships?: there are very very few made available each year. I attempted to receive one (filled out the paperwork, got the background check, went through the physical) but all the spots were gone by the time my file was put together by the recruiter.

The pros are definitely financial (no tuition which can be anywhere between $200k and $400k and even pay during dental school) but the cons include inability to chose where or how you practice or whether or not you can specialize (and some specialties.... not mine lol... pay significantly more than the general dentist)

Love your videos!

when I see people my age doing so well like this, I ask myself what I have been doing with my life.

I walked to school in Montreal when I was a kid, you get used to it when it's what you do every day even if it's no fun. Then I moved to Sydney in February and went from walking in -30C to walking in +35C from one week to the next. Can't honestly say which was worse

Here in Switzerland a Phd Student gets 55k to 85k USD equivalent. I think this is the only place where PhDs have decent saleries.

I am dentist working in government ( in SA) from 7-3:30pm... I honestly don't want to work in private because I love the work life balance and it's nice feeling to provide free services to the disadvantaged community.

Way too responsible. Where's the splurging, three new cars, and credit card debt?😅

Food -- she has commissary priviledges- so food/groceries can be very inexpensive. She qualifies for full pension benefits after 20 years and can go into private practice if she wants. She can access numerous military commissaries around the country if she wants as she travels too. I saw her vid when it first came out. Smart and impressive.

Military scholarships like that (especially for the Navy) are extremely competitive for dentists- great for her! Dental students can also pledge to work for the National Health Service Corp after graduating to have their tuition paid for.

I'd love to see a video about if Graham thinks private dental school tuition is worth it. ($90, 000+ x4 years in some schools!)
