I can totally to your travel anxiety. I’m currently on my first ever trip alone, too. It went way smoother than expected that reduced my anxiety a lot. I just hope, I’ll remember my success and this feeling the next time to not worry too much beforehand.
As to the lost luggage: If I fly I always put a spare set of clothes, all my valuable things, my glasses and the most important toiletries and medicine in my backpack. That way I have enough to wear until I’m able to buy new things or get my luggage back.
