My smart TV will not run on my slow DSL. It drinks all of my bandwidth as so as I plug it in. It is nothing but an expensive dust catcher now.
My chromecast ultra (which thus basically is.) runs beautifully without preventing me from using my other devices, as long as I don't go higher than 720p.
For those of us without fast internet options, this line of products is a god send.

Well I won't buy it for 2 reasons. 1 it's nothing but Chinese junk.2. Because of the name on it Google.

Why did they give up on the original concept of chromecast? cheap, Small stick, non-intrusive stick that doesn't need to be plugged into the wall. and qickly casted from the app iteslf? Now needs a remote, has a big home screen interface, it's a big block that needs to be next to the tv, and needs to be plugged into the wall outlet.
