1. In terms of intellectual honesty and transparency, YouTube ought to restore the thumbs down score. Am told there's an app for that.

2. This vid says nothing substantial. Maybe that's the point.

I looked up absurdism: intentionally ridiculous or bizarre. But it's the philosophical equivalent of Newspeak in Orwell's 1984: not intended to enlighten; it ends up obscuring.

3. (Maybe I should've put this one 1st.) The real difference between Sartre and Camus...the one(s) that count(s)...presented in the vid Revolutionary vs. Rebel

The proof of the pudding concerning a person's beliefs, or credo, if that word is better, is the practical fruit it bears. Sartre didn't just overlook the Stalinist purges. He embraced them as the curative. But from a distance it's hard to tell the diff between Stalinism and the Shoa. Or for that matter, Mao's Cultural Revolution with its show trials and the excesses of the Red Guard.

And what am I on the philosophical spectrum? I don't know; maybe a naive youth in pov and a curmudgeon in age. I believe that historian Will Durant is the curative for postmodern despair.
