Cardinal Singing the Song of Spring

Male Northern Cardinal singing the classic song of defending his territory and attracting a mate in the high mountains of North Carolina. One of my favorite times of the year. There have been a lot of cardinal videos on this channel, but once in awhile just have to appreciate the bold red and greens on early May.

Moving home to Texas from Georgia was wonderful, but how I miss the enormous variety of birds that came to our yard every day. Sixteen cardinals in the back, 10 bluebirds in the front, dozens of robins, chickadees, wrens, woodpeckers, owls, hawks, jays, catbirds, whiny little yellow-bellied sapsuckers and so many more. Thank you for this lovely Cardinal.
