Asus Zenbook Duo 14 (UX482) Review | Dual Screen 2021 Laptop!

Reviewing the Asus Zenbook Duo 14 UX482, a 2021 laptop update with dual displays, making it among the best notebooks for pro users. Multi-tasking is a joy, performance is solid, and battery life is perfectly respectable. I've been testing the Zenbook Duo 14 for over a week now and here's my final verdict.

The USP of this laptop is that secondary screen, with full stylus support. You can effortlessly share your apps between those two panels, making it ideal for professionals, programmers etc who need to work on the move. Asus has thoughtfully implemented this design, to make it as easy and fun to use as possible.

The new 2021 Zenbook Duo 14 UX482 is limited as far as graphics and creative tasks are concerned in this Iris XE model. However you can grab a GeForce MX450 version with a bit more graphical grunt, if you need extra performance.

Battery life is also slightly above average despite those dual displays, although Apple's Macbook Pro M1 still has it beat in that area.

So that's my review of this slick and unique Zenbook notebook. Let me know your thoughts below, hoping to test out the Asus Zenbook Duo 14 Pro very soon!

I work with multiple screens at once, and this one is perfect for me. And for TEAMs presentations, this works wonderful for me.

This would be good for office work. Multi tasking, without the need of a second screen.

I've used the Zenbook Pro Duo since end of 2019 and it's awesome, the best laptop for me. Huge increase in productivity and fun to use.

It’s like having two lap tops in one with the two screens, I’m definitely going to look into buying this one.

I just bought this and it's absolutely beautiful! I fall in love again and again every time I put it on a desk in full light. The trackpad is not much of an issue when you can use the second screen as a huge touch pad, and the two touch screens are a pretty good replacement for the track pad - I find myself using touch features more than on other touch screen laptops. The keyboard is pretty awkward to use on your lap (I'm typing this on my lap) but for the most part it's a very usable device that really shines on a desk and has the bare minimum capabilities when used on your lap. I suffer from hand cramps and some kind of RSI on my old macbook, so the ability to use a variety of input devices is one of my favourite parts of this design. Really easy to use! Your review was one of the videos that solidified my decision to buy one and I haven't regretted it. Actually I think I'm more and more proud of the decision with each full day of work I get out of it. I would make some recommendations to the developers but for the second iteration of the ultra portable I'm very impressed and glad to have one!

Nice review. So if I’m using zoom and someone I’m talking too shares their screen to show a video, am I able to watch the video on the smaller screen so I can still read my notes on the main screen

Great review - it's like you were drinking throughout as more and more expletives got (accurately) dropped in... Really helpful though, thanks!

Seriously considering the 32gb ZenBook duo for 990$ from the manufacturer website. That deal is hard to deny

How good is this laptop when connected to an external monitor? What happens to the screens then?

Not sure if the 1TB model gets the same treatament, but the 512GB one comes with an Optane cache drive. ASUS'es specsheet is a bit confusing here.
Regardless, great device if you have to juggle alot of apps and normally use the device on a dock with several monitors.
I always feel super handicapped when im on the go with just 1 screen, but i am a bit worried about the usability of the keyboard when its on your lap.

I think it's one of the type of laptops i'll get in the future when it gets cheaper or when i'll intend to do a serious upgrade.

I got this about a week ago. Can't go back to a regular laptop. I love this thing. I use the second screen all the time. Also very fast for what I use it for as well as good battery life. It's just so cool!

How loud are the fans on this? I need a super quiet laptop for audio recording and having the extended screen would be amazing but if the fan is super loud it's not as useful.

It's commendable that ASUS is giving such an interesting device in a smaller form factor and a choice in a lower price point. For my eyes, it's their magnum opus. The second screen is an idea I expect to take off in near future. It's TouchBar done right. I hope more people get their hands on this device so ASUS continues to produce it.
