ppl saying ohh Kratos could've killed Thor he was holding back and shits yeah but so was Thor holding back since All Father ordered Thor not to kill Kratos, and in the battle u can see Thor actually defeat Kratos and he revives him to battle more once Kratos punches Thor wit his full strength (spartan rage) you can see that it resulted in Thor breaking his one tooth so you can see how Powerful Thor is. Kratos himself said in his diary in the game that Thor's strength and power was something he had never witnessed in his past (past including Ares, Zeus etc) even in the second battle of Thor v Kratos I Thor was absolute monster now one question is that how did Odin kill him wit jst one ordinary spear well that spear was not ordinary at all, it had some magic spell on it personally only for Thor and thats because Odin fear that anytime in future if he ever wanted to Neutralize Thor how would he so that spear had some special magic.
