Career preparation as a college student can feel overwhelming. It can be difficult to know what to do, and when, to explore potential career fields and start building experience.
The Career Development Center at IU built a resource called Career Communities for exactly this purpose! We organized IU's 140+ majors into 25 career fields that fall within 7 industry areas. Career Communities are a resource on our website that give overviews of different fields you might be interested in, majors related to those careers, ideas for building experience through jobs or internships, and even a list of relevant events on campus to add to your calendar!
The 7 industry areas are:
-Arts, Sports, & Entertainment
-Business
-Communications and Culture
-Government and Non-Profit
-Health & Human Services
-IT & Data
-Science
