I have been told by some people that Unix is dead and no one really use it or support it anymore, so let's see if that's the case.

Apple is based on BSD Unix. They went away and recently the kernel moved closer back to BSD Unix. So if we count MacOS, iPadOS, and iOS that's way way way more.

I've been checking out source forge after hearing you say distrowatch isn't where everything is and I've been having such a good time seeing the vast amount of distros and tools on there. Thanks !

The kernel for iPhones is based on the MacOS Kernel.

With a little plumbing changes you could probably use it like a traditional Unix.

QNX is "Unix Like" and is running inside hundreds of thousands, if not millions of cars.

What about FreeBSD developed from the Berkeley Software Distribution of UNIX?

Dead in terms of user share. Just like classic cars, spares will be available for sometime and some people will pay a lot not to change, but for most people the choice has gone, the time has passed, it is nailed to the perch.

This video seriously lacks quality, sorry to say. z/OS is not a UNIX system. z/OS can support a UNIX VM based on Linux. HP-UX is not actively sold anymore and has already reached EoL. AIX will EoL in 2026, however I don't know if you can currently buy at least IBM's POWER systems with AIX.
Nobody is actively selling UNIX anymore, nor is there any active development outside new hardware support, UNIX only receives leagcy support on platforms with long support contract durations (e.g.: HP Superdome, Itanium, IBMs POWER series, etc).
None of the current BSD implementations qualify as true UNIX. The result of the AT&T .vs. Berkley lawsuit was the release of BSD 4.4lite, in which the few remaining original bits of AT&T's UNIX code was removed. All subsequent BSD developments rebased their codebase on BSD 4.4lite, so no BSD system contains any UNIX code anymore.
By all practical means, UNIX is dead.
