Tour a U-Pick APPLE ORCHARD with 60 Different Apples! — Ep. 021

As we were looking for land around the Finger Lakes, we fell in love with a property that was near to Littletree Orchards, which is a U-Pick orchard that also sells to local markets, including Greenstar Co-op and the Ithaca Farmers Market. Started in the mid-1970s, Littletree is one of those destinations you have to experience for yourself. Their U-Pick typically opens in the late summer through fall.

I really enjoyed this video. Apple orchards hold fond memories for me of my grandfather's orchard on the farm. He had done his own grafts so one tree would have two or three varieties of apples. To pick I would tuck my shirt into my pants and then drop the apples down the inside of my shirt. It was also my job to pick the fallen apples to make cider. We'd rent a press for the day and our apple cider was always so delicious.
Thanks for taking me back for a trip in time. I'm a macintosh lover and I just purchased a macintosh apple tree.
