A woman in Australia got quite a fright when she saw a giant spider on her home on July 23.

When I was a kid (Australian), I saw a huntsman on the glass sliding door. I THOUGHT I was seeing him on the outside and me on the inside. WRONG. I thought I would tap on the glass and get up close to see him. We BOTH realised and scared the hell out of each other when I tapped the spider directly on its huge abdomen INSTEAD of what I thought was glass. I jumped back twenty feet and the spider dropped and ran behind the curtain.

As an Aussie I wanna clarify that these things are scary as all hell and are the one of the fastest spiders in the world however despite the paralizing fear factor they are completely harmless to humans and are surprisingly chill. It's nearly impossible to piss one off and they are one of Australia's leading in pest control with everything from small bugs to rats and other (more dangerous) spiders.

I'm from PR, and since I was a kid (I'm 35 now) I had been acustomed to seeing these spiders in my house, they were super common but they were always small, so for most of my life I thought that that was their actual adult size... until some years ago a HUGE one startled tf out of us when it suddenly appeared running on the wall from behind my drawer and I thought it was a special case of one of them growing abnormally large... but after seeing that one, more and more of the huge ones started showing up very often... I wonder why all the big ones all decided to come out of the shadows one day after so long...
