Until employers start giving two week notices when you are getting fired I will NOT by any circumstances give two weeks notice. These companies and corporations don’t get this one way street. Literally give two weeks so company doesn’t lose money but if you and your kids can’t eat and you get fired, how much weeks notice they give you?? Yeah no, not doing it.

I'm a temp admin at a college.
I get a letter from HR that extends me for 6 months at a time. NO contract whatsoever. Beyond toxic there, and I refuse to give a 2 weeks and have them walk me out. No way!!!

I’ve gotten my coworkers responsibilities thrown on me multiple times for them just walking out. At this point why would I give a crap to not do the same. 2 weeks notice and “burning bridges” is kind of bullshit if you don’t plan on going back.

Most states are employment at will which means either the employee or employer can terminate the relationship anytime for any reason without or without notice. My position treat your employer as they treat you. If you enjoyed working there, they treated you fairly, then give two weeks. If they treated you unfairly quit without notice then send your ex employer a ceise and desist letter. Problem resolved

My friend gave a 2 week notice last week . They told him get out we don't want your 2 week notice .

I walked out. My boss had me work a twelve hour shift. Said I couldn't leave until the work was done. I was part time but given full time hours. I asked twice to have my hours cut.
Another employee stole things out of my cart and another damaged my car in the parking lot.
Sometimes, you have no choice but to leave.

Ask yourself this. If they were going to let you go would they give you a two week notice? I don't think so. So I think they would be just fine if the other side did the same. Especially if it's bad management

My biggest problem with a two weeks notice is that it can leave you stranded if the new job rescinds the offer. Look what Coinbase did.

Plus, a lot of companies these days either let you go immediately or take it personally that you quit, so the bridge will likely be burnt anyway.

If it is a toxic employer, I do not give a two weeks notice. I will just quit reason being if I am a toxic employee, they would just terminate me without giving me a two weeks notice

I just quit a job after working less than 3 weeks yesterday without notice.Just don't put them on your resume.I got a buyout a few years ago & they never gave me any notice before they let me go.It's a 2 way street people.

People don't need to do 2 weeks notice unless they have unfinished business w clients or need to finish up some loose ends.
