It’s a tough week for Boeing's PR team after an aircraft veered off a runway, marking the 3rd headline-making mishap involving the company’s planes in a week.

United Flight 2477 had just landed at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, on March 8, when the Boeing 737 Max slid off the runway, causing the plane to get stuck in grass. No injuries were reported, however, the 160 passengers and 6 crew members had to be evacuated.

One of the passengers told KTRK that he heard a ‘huge pop’ before the plane suddenly tilted over. ‘Seems like we were making a turn. The plane was going a little too fast and just slid off. That’s what I took it as,’ he added.

On March 7, a Boeing 777-200 departing from San Francisco lost a portion of its landing gear during takeoff. Fortunately, no injuries were reported and the plane was safely diverted to Los Angeles.

Also on March 7, a United flight from Houston to Florida had to make an emergency landing when its engine started spewing flames after plastic bubble wrap made its way into the engine.

So now we're going to blame pilot mishaps on Boeing too?

This was pilot error. The runway was wet and he tried to take the turn at 45 mph when the limit is 10 mph.

Maybe you need facts. Not just dog pile on Boeing.
Runway was wet and slippery. Pilot was urged by tower to maintain speed on runway before departing due to tight traffic landing spacing behind him. The pilot made a sharp right turn under conditions that made the front wheels skid slipping trough the turn. Wheels left the pavement and sunk into the wet dirt/grass. Wing is resting on the engine. Ultimately the pilot is responsible, but there were other factors at play.

This is not a Boeing caused problem.

If Boeing aint doing the maintenance then they ain't responsible for wheels falling off and doort opening. If Boeing aint pioleting the jet then they ain't responsible for others driving it off the runway.
I bet if the plane was black we wouldn't hear anything about this in the news.

And why is this a Boeing issue? The plane is the property of United, and flown by their personnel.

Must have been one of those box checked new pilots they are after. 😂

A good freind. A 777 senior captain and many of his colleagues took early retirement. They lost confidence in the hiring practices of United and the quality of the aircraft and maintenance. Pilots demand excellence at every level. People's lives are at stake as well as their own.

People, it’s not the Aircraft. Causes attributed to weather, runway surface conditions & aircraft speed!

Pilot error can't be blamed on Boeing

Boeing is not at fault. Possibly weather and or pilot error.
To say it’s the aircraft fault and “they can’t get a break” is unfair.
I do feel that the “NEW” Boeing and under the new leadership has steered the airline off course. The employees who build the aircraft’s are truly dedicated to safety.

This is not a Boeing issue... This is like you getting in a crash and blaming Kia. Can't fix stupid.

Ever think the pilot had anything to do with it? They don't fly themselves.

My coworker was on this flight from Memphis to Houston, and he sent a live feed from this bs. We joked about it but I'm glad he was okay.

I flew into Houston on United the day after - didn’t notice anything unusual and the flight was normal. However when i rated the trip for United, i told them that I would have given them a higher rating, except for the fact that the CEO mentioned DEI in their mission statement and that I don’t care about DEI, I care about safety for me, and my fellow passengers, and want the best and most qualified pilots, maintenance and staff!

This one is on the airline for hiring incompetent pilots.

This is the best way to prepare for an interview for a pilot in command at
Ryan Air.
Well done and good luck with the new mob.
