The Pegasus as you'd guess is in the GM Museum, not open to the public. At the time, I drove around the GM Tech Center with my brand-new Atoll blue base Firebird while the big guy drove those same streets in his Pegasus. Given the inspiration for the 2nd Gen F-Bodies (mid-60's Ferrari 250GTO) and by extension his Pegasus, I often wonder what would Bill Mitchell do today to re-imagine what is arguably one of the cleanest, most beautiful cars ever to come out of Detroit .... the 2nd Gen 'Bird that is. What would Bill Mitchell do?

First I've heard of this. I can see why Mr. Mitchell might have received one of Enzo's masterpieces, no way in hell that Shelby would have got one, Edsel Ford or no Edsel Ford. So far as I know, Pontiac never raced at Le Mans, never mind won there... I'd give a lot to see that beast on a good road course. That sound coming from a Firebird.... WOW!

According to Jay Leno (in his 55 Mondial 500 video) he stated that GM took delivery of two Ferrari V-12 engines for the Pegasus project and that the second engine was stored in a warehouse for years in a crate marked Ferrari; but, the GM guys spelled it wrong!

New one to me, lol! Not sure how I feel about that mashup, like both individuality, but on the fence the Ferrari engine. I would have liked it better without the Ferrari front clip on the Pontiac.

When I look at the back I see Buick Riviera.
