Landing in high winds and a flipped over Cessna!

Took a cross country trip in my airplane Lil Red and saw this over in Waco. The winds were brutal that day but I still nailed my landing. Winds don't mess with Kay Hall! :)

A real pilot won’t trash talk a fellow aviator, because everyone has room for improvement and no one is a perfect pilot.
Good job 🤙🏻🤙🏻

You can see how windy it is by watching all the corrections on the control Yoke!

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. Mother Nature is always throwing us curve balls.

Looked like a perfect landing in those conditions, well done.

I love this page. She is so thorough and consistent as a pilot. Very inspiring.

You said it anyone who wants to critisize your landing should b aware the winds blew a plane over & your landing was absolutely spot on for the conditions great job👍

Those corrections coming in were crazy! Great job Kay, I don't think I could've done better

After you touched down, you quit flying the airplane, that's what brought you further left of center. You actually need to increase aileron to the right (in this case) to compensate for the decreasing control effectiveness as speed decreased. Great vid tho.

You got the wheels on the runway and came to a stop in one piece! You did awesome in those conditions!!

That is actually extremely impressive!

GREAT landing in very challenging conditions, you flew it all the way to the landing rollout - a gusting crosswind! But that's a confidence builder because you won't be afraid to flying into those conditions, knowing you have to land.

Those gusts at approaching stall scares the hell out of me. GOOD JOB!

I like how she puts the flipped plane as the cover photo so you think you are about to watch a crazy crash landing…. Wow… I just got CATFISHED!!

I knew an old guy who painstakingly recovered the wings of his Aeronca. Once done, he parked it at the airport next to the fence and tied it down with two 500# tractor weights. The winds picked up to 60mph one day and the airplane started flying. It lifted the weights, went backwards over the fence, flipped on its back and both weights came down on the wings, breaking both spars. He took it apart...took it home and started all over again.

My son and I landed in Puyallup Washington. He flying and we had crosswinds in the '20s. It was tough. I don't criticize anyone after going through that with him. Good job.

Looks good to me! I landed my Long Ez at Greenwood, IN, KHFY several years back with a 22knot crosswind factor and lined up on the east side of 75’ wide runway and after touch down I was on the other side.

Tip your wing into the crosswind to prevent ballooning. It will also help preventing flipping the aircraft during big gusts. I was taught to lean into the wind and let that side of the gear touch first, than bring the nose back as the rest of the gear touchdown

You didn’t go off the runway, mission accomplished. Crosswind landing is challenging regardless, so hey. You landed safe is what matters.
