Oh man. The look on that little boy’s face when he saw the car brought a tear to my eye. That reminds me of when I was his age and saw the car. I’m so happy a new generation is loving this film and car as much as I did over 30 years ago

At six years old I saw the original movie at the theater with my folks and instantly became a fan, this is something I would have dreamt about having happen for me thirty plus years ago, I Afterlife the weekend it came out and I tried hard holding back tears of joy.

As a 6-year old in 1988, I got all the Mattel-Toys and the firehouse as toys for xmas. We had the ghost-traps and the water-pistol proton gun, but the suits and proton packs were simply nowhere to get by back in Western Germany at that time. We didn't have the internet or Amazon and I remember how my grandparents even tried their luck at the only Toys'R'Us in the region, but back then there was an issue with imports of these toys from the USA. Nevertheless, we managed to improvise our stuff just like these kids. I guess I would have freaked out as a boy if Ecto had rolled in. I lived in a suburb like these kids, so I instantly am back there. I'm so happy for the kids and to have that experience. Their parents are awesome!!!
