Super fun stuff EJ! I absolutely love the vertex map feature with C4D cloth for creating these inflation transitions. It's so simple and intuitive and IMO looks as good as almost anything coming out of Houdini!

Btw. I wish your Basecamp Cinema 4D course would be available also as the "offline" version, not only online live-lessons. Unfortunately with my 3 kids I'm not able to take the live lessons on fixed hours :( Maybe in the future ;)
