I really appreciate videos like this. By nature they will never hit millions of views because there simply aren't a millions of people looking for this. As one of the thousands who are trying to learn this stuff I truly am grateful for it.

I've had resolve 18 crash a couple times. But when I open the project back up it doesn't lose any progress 👍

Casey Faris I've been watching many of your videos since the purchasing of my Davinci Resolve and Speed Editor, and I must say I'm very, very thankful for the work you provide to us. There are very few instructors here that can explain and demonstrate lessons like you. Best wishes with your career Casey! -Thank you! 👏🙏

Had to pause and comment early (4:11) to let you know how much I appreciated seeing the Proxy vs Full-Res editing responsiveness comparison. Was really wondering about how much diff it makes and the demo is worth 1K words! Probably 1K seconds of edit time too. Thanks for that. Okay, watched the rest of this video and it is outstanding! Yes, that's what I want to learn to do and with that excellent workflow. I will be in your training as soon as I can knock a few other gotta-do's off my list. Thanks for posting this helpful info.

Prepping to make the switch from Vegas after 20 years of excruciating frustrations. Can't thank you enough for all of the tutorials.

Casey: What DR really needs for us less talented / wannabe or newbees is an addon that when one hovers over an Icon or a menu Item and say hits TAB + F1 the definition for that Icon or menu Item appears with a sample of how it is used / accomplished. and maybe where it appears in the Davinci manual found under HELP . Premiere had this up until the PRO series. That and the exorbitant fees is why I now use DR STUDIO. OH I forgot to complement you on another great tutorial Bro.

Far out, Casey. You've got a great instructional style. I'm slowly working through this bit by bit. For those who want to learn, this is high value teaching. Thank you.

@CaseyFaris - Thank you for all that you do. I started out with the standard video editor in Windows. Realized quickly that I wanted something more. I went to YouTube and found Davinci. Windows was ok but rendering took forever and it was not a stable program. Kept crashing on me. Davinci has been a night and day difference in the quality of content that I am producing. Thank you for everything you do for the editing community.

Thank you for everything you're doing, Casey! You've helped me (and many other people) get GOOD at resolve and editing in general.
It's easy to tell how much work, thought and effort you put into each and every video. Your guides/lessons/tips (I don't even want to categorize your content haha) are so well-made, comprehensive and easy to follow, that it's kind of hard to belive you're putting this out for free. I'll definetely sign up for your courses at Ground Control when I have the time/money!
In my eyes you are the blenderguru of Davinci Resolve 😁

10 out of 10, would recommend to folks who are newish to editing and could use a real hands on example to model. I’m just learning to use resolve on my saved twitch clips to then push them out to Insta. This was time well spent. Thank you.

Casey, you have made me feel like a Davinci pro from watching your videos all day. Thank you! You truly are the master! You teach while editing a video inside of editing a video! This is some kind of video inception that broke my brain for the rest of the day 😂

(I use an M1 Mac mini to Edit videos) I keep having issues whenever I try to sync up clips using audio (even when they have the exact same audio), it means that I have to manually align my clips every time, which is a massive headache when I'm dealing with over an hour of footage with 3 cameras that need to be aligned.
I found one useful video that helped a lot by showing how to change your timeline to 1080p for editing, then change it back to 4K before you render.
I used to always edit in Sony Vegas, and I was probably 10x faster editing in that than I am editing in Davinci Resolve. In Sony Vegas I used the Media Generator a lot for text, graphics, overlays and animations, but I can't figure it out on Resolve.
The things I really need to figure out are: Time aligning multiple clips, creating a Multicam clip, colour grading/matching different camera angles and figuring out where everything is in Resolve.
