You can get steals at pawn shops! I once got a 5 carat 14K Tig tennis bracelet for $600. I had it tested and appraised at a jewelry store for $6K. The manager nearly fainted. They had knocked a diamond out when cleaning it, so we got to talking while they did the paperwork to fix it. They tested it in front of me at the pawn shop as well but it was nice to confirm it!
