I'm planning to retire at 59 in another country outside the US that is free, safe and very cheap with a high quality of life and good healthcare. Greed has eaten up those in our economic sectors making lives of the average Americans difficult. Mr. president seems to be myopic about how to better the country and seemingly peaks interest in war topics. Taxes are heavy on the middle class while the billionaires evade this taxes. some are even given tax cuts. I could fully just rely on only my SS if I wanted to when that times arrives but l'll also have at least one pension, a 403 (b) and a very prolific Investment account with my Catalina Soto Busch my FA. Retiring comfortably in the US these days is almost impossible

You had covid and the ukraine war and Powell still managed a soft landing for US is just incredible. Powell is not perfect but he has done a great job so far. Trump is just finding someone to blame for his failing tariffs. Powell did nothing wrong here it is trump who is pusing powell to play politics. Powell and the fed should not entertain trump.

That said, it is very worrying that trump could take control of fed as soon as early 2026 as some board members term

If the tariffs are so beautiful as Trump claims, there is no reason for Powell to do anything. The beauty of the tariffs are sufficient to keep things moving forward. Trump knows that his tariffs are economic poison so he wants Powell to help bail him out for his bad economic decisions he has made. He is seeking political cover and Powell should not do anything. Let Trump rise or fall on his tariffs.
