A trick I learned a while back but tried today for the first time is that tilt controls MAX OUT HANDLING. Tournament players use that so that you can use a really low handling character and vehicle, and manage to make those turns. You’ll want to use a tilt/joystick hybrid, but that really works.

Mank, I played mk8 deluxe and I had the most problem with 200cc. I constantly keep getting 2nd place at the last race, which cancels my 3 stars. This also made me want to break my pro controller. Ever since I watched your videos, I got way better at mariocart 8 deluxe ever since. I now have all 3 stars on all the cups on each cc and I just want to thank you so much for bringing your tips, and your amazing smuggle guides.

Just started playing MK8, just finished all of 50cc and started 100cc very pleased to see this one has a 200cc, the last game I played was double dash which was my favorite one personally. Thank you for all the tips, will start working on the ones applicable to lower difficulties to get used to them.

This is amazing! Truly showed me how little I know about the game. Just by switching character and kart, and gently applying the brakes, went from third place to first (with three starts) in the first attempt.

There were actually a few things I didn't know earlier, like star-hopping and braking on jumps and Bullet Bill brake drifting. Really good job!

I suggest using the Y button for brake drifting, since the B button is easier to press it while still accelerating.

Steering-cut is one I know, use the smart steering when start, when you need to go off the track or go on to the corner for shortcut, turn off the smart steering, after that, turn back back on the smart steering and finish the race.

Thanks for the tips, Mankalor, I actually got a 3 star ranking on all of the cups on 200cc, on the wii u, thanks to this, I was struggling, now I have finally beaten my first ever nintendo game, for the first time in 8 years, since it came out on the wii u in 2014, I beat it like 2 months ago.
