Fender Pro Junior Pushed into ZEPPELIN territory by Vintage TONE BENDER

I'm pushing a 2008 Fender Pro Junior with a 1966 Vox Tone Bender Fuzz pedal. The guitar is a 2015 Squier Affinity Telecaster. Close mics are Sennheiser MD421U5 and ElectroVoice RE10. Room mic is AKG C414BXLII. The mic preamps are API 3124+. This recreates a bunch of classic Led Zeppelin tones to me.

When you back it off it turns into Keith Richards?! Must acquire now.

It’s a lot of fun playing with these small amplifiers and a great fuzz pedal!!

I love me a good Fender Pro Jr. Something about just plugging into one with a good Humbucker guitar, and cranking it up. It's endlessly entertaining.

Man I wish I could cranked mine in my apartment like you do yours in your basement. Epic tone.

This is I run an Analogman Fuzz into my Pro Jr., roll the volume down and you get a similar Rolling Stones-like overdrive.

Years ago I had a Dunlop Fuzz Face that did something quite similar...

Rolling the guitar's volume up from zero you'd get a fairly smooth overdrive sound, gradually increasing in gain and saturation for most of the sweep, then suddenly between about say 8 and 10 on the volume there was this noticeable, and quite abrupt jump in saturation and compression, as well as a prominent bass boost.

It was a definite feeling that something extra kicked in at that point, almost as if you'd actually stepped on a boost pedal in front of an overdrive or something.

Below that point it just sounded like an overdriven amp, but above it you'd get that thick, creamy, "woman tone" effect.

Thank you. Darrell in Hawaii. Cheers!

Thanks Johan, any way we can get you and plexi master to talk about Park amps and their similarities and differences with their Marshall brethren. Lots of “forum” rumors about them being similar and the parks being tweaked.

My original Tone Bender, and my Band of Gypsies MXR fuzz are the only pedals that do the 'amp volume roll off', hence I've sold 13 fuzz pedals and kept those two.
Excellent demo of how versatile a fuzz and Fender are, when its the right fuzz, and the volume knob.
My favorite 'heartbreaker tone' is my Deluxe (on 7) and the MXR Band of Gypsies, via a my Telecaster's volume to taste.

My first pedal was a Super Tonebender (purple writing) from Solasound, this takes me back :)

Yea those early fuzz pedals are great for leads and cleans rolled down. Probably a fantastic pedal for that tiny amp honestly. I bet it makes the amp a lot louder.

I'd love to see a video comparing the Pro Junior to different amps but using the same cabinet (like a Marshall 4x12) to see how much sound difference is just in the speaker
