I tried this method 5 months ago and it never drifted until a few days ago so I did it again there was no drift again so this method for me is not permanent but at least it last for 5 months before doing it again

Btw this works with any old wd 40. If the wd 40 is bad with electric stuff, just wait a few mins before using. Thanks, my original joycon from 4yrs ago which had terrible joycon drift now works nearly flawlessly. Just a quick tip: sometimes there is still a bit of drift and this can be fixed by calibrating a few times and then using the controller for a bit. If the controller stil doesn't work, I reccomend adding some more wd 40 like he said

My daughter's left joycon was drifting very badly and the right one just drift a bit when I calibrate them.
I use WD-40 multi-use product instead. I know it might not suitable for electronics, so I just apply very small amount of the liquid. It works perfectly on both joycons so far.
