RECIPE GERMAN STRAWBERRY CAKE:

Ingredients
4 eggs
100g sugar
vanilla bean extract
125g flour
60g butter (melted)
1 teaspoon baking powder
Strawberries
Red jelly
Whipping Cream

Method
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites adding the sugar bit by bit. Add the egg yolks very carefully. Mix the flour with the baking powder and add it in 3 steps (one bit at a time so that the batter remains quite fluffy). Last but not least add the melted butter and put the dough into a round cake tin. Bake for about 25 minutes. Let the cake cool, add the strawberries on top and the red jelly. Enjoy with whipping cream.

*IMPORTANT*: The Finn Crips Rye Sourdough Thins aren't of course gluten free, I don't even know why I said it; it must have been my empty stomach. I'm not celiac but am allergic to wheat, wheat flour and spelt so rye is completely fine. I'm so sorry because if you're celiac you can't have them. So sorry about the confusion.

Confession: I am a news/political junkie so as an American it is so refreshing to find you for a comforting message and video. Did you ever think of yourselves as a public mental health service? Thank you do much for all you do. It is so meaningful and rewarding to your viewers.

We are very serious about bread here in Kansas USA, and most of us are of German descent! We are called "the bread basket of America." In the 1870s, the German settlers couldn't grow their wheat due to harsh winters, so they grew Russian red wheat instead. This literally saved their lives!

I am German and moved 22 years ago to London for my job. Just recently I went to a Booths in the Lake District. I absolutely loved it - it’s better than Waitrose in my opinion. I also love the fact that it is a family business - comparable to what we Germans call a Mittelstand business. This is very worthy of support.

Kirsten and Joerg, every time I see another one of your videos, I think of your kitchen in progress. I hope it is going well and I cannot wait to see the video where you unveil it!
This tour was wonderful. Thank you for including us and sharing close-ups and so much information. I love the unhurried pace of your videos.

Your channel is so great for me personally because I've always wanted to see England but won't ever get there, most likely. Your shows are so peaceful and calming. And I must say it really makes me grateful that my country has supermarkets and others so readily. It's just a totally different life style living there, and because of you two, I get to experience it. So thank you! I look forward to all your future adventures. You're very fun to watch.

I loved this video! Thank you so much for this tour and for showing us the prices and where the products are from.
U.S. prices are the worst (except perhaps for Canada from what I have seen online). And we do not have the imported goods. In Europe and the Middle East, supermarkets import varieties from around the world. British clotted cream is wonderful but I never even knew it existed until I visited relatives living in Dubai. You would at least think the U.S. would have a few imports to choose from but there must be trade laws or tariffs that discourage it. It's a shame and U.S. corporate food interests need competition. They have a monopoly on our food supply and have it riddled with chemical additives that are terrible for our health. It needs to change! (Sorry for my rant against the food supply here in the U.S. but I need to vent about it).
This gives all of us a vision of what supermarkets could and should be like around the world.
As always, the two of you made my day. You are a ray of sunshine in this challenging world. Please stay who you are and congratulations on being on the verge of going over the 200k subscriber milestone!

What a wonderful grocery store. I love it when grocery stores have flowers, gifts & cards as well as food.

I love Booths, local produce, supporting British Farmers. They have 30 stores now
in the north of England and it’s a pleasure to shop in their stores. Their buildings are architecturally nice on the eye and designed to suit the area or history of the town or city they are in. Staff have nice uniforms and you receive good old fashioned customer service from them. I love the ethos of the store. Their fresh desserts are absolutely delicious. British people will say it’s at the top end price wise.. up there with Waitrose and Marks and Spencer’s and I agree.. but our friends and family in Australia and America / Canada will say it’s actually cheap for them! We didn’t know your prices for groceries were so high. Great videos - always a pleasure to watch and very relaxing, too! Nice to watch happy content with no bad news. Keep up the great work. Thanks kindly.

I am an American and live in the State . The hardest part is NO GOOD GERMAN BREAD! When I buy already prepared meals I make sure it goes with rice, pasta or even potatoes. My husband and I share one of the two meals and I make more starch to stretch the meal. Thank you for the lovely tour.

I have seen Booth’s highlighted before and I was AMAZED! Wish we had one in the US! As ALWAYS a visit with you two is an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT. When I see you have posted I save it for a moment when I can actually give it both my full attention and also a chance simply to enjoy your company 😊.

I am so impressed with that grocery store and it is so refreshing to see a normal grocery store, not one with 10, 000 items like they have here in America! Kirsten when you said you didn't care for caramel I thought "well then can we even be friends?" That is an American joke among friends when someone says they don't like something the other one loves. I agree with Joerg that store was so clean and well organized and I enjoyed seeing the types of food and brands you have in the UK. Thank you for taking us along and as always, I enjoy you two so much!

❤Once again, you two have hit on something new! I have never watched a video tour of a supermarket before but I cannot imagine a tour more elegant and enjoyable than this! What a beautifully curated store.
I especially loved the Wheat Company's products.
But I have to hand it to you for heading off to the supermarket at 7 A.M. That is never going to happen in my world!
Much love to both of you from the USA ❤

That was a wonderful grocery store. I live in the states and I think you have a much bigger variety than we have. It sure was fun looking at all those fun foods. Wish I could have purchased a few. Thanks again for a wonderful adventure.

I live in Amish country in America, we have a very large Mennonite population as well. There are many family owned Amish markets here which are much less expensive than regular grocery store chains. They’re usually right next to their houses on their farms. We have a butcher shop that specializes in bratwurst, there are dozens of flavors, from apple bacon to (believe it or not) Gummi Bears! I admit I have thought of you both when trying to choose a flavor, wondering if you would enjoy them. I’m not Amish, but I’ve grown so used to them that I forget how unusual it is for people passing through our little village to be behind a horse and buggy on the roads.
