Christianity is about sacrifice. It's about dying to yourself, denying yourself, and throwing away your identities. You are now to serve and follow Christ. You cannot add onto that and say "I follow Christ, but on this issue I make up my own mind!"

Thats not how Christianity works. Read the bible, understand it, follow Christ, and deny the world.

Pastor Calvin is such an Amazing guy, so well spoken and articulate and God fearing. Have been following him for ages and he never fails to defend God.

In my social work school, being progressive was the only route to take. I was relaxed about interpretations of the Bible until I realized how badly butchered the scripture was being retold. Also, what really bothered me the most was the retelling of the Bible was such a deliberate manipulation.

I am an atheist. And I very much enjoy listening to Calvin Robinson talk on all sorts of social issues. He is a very intelligent guy, and I have a great deal of respect for him. He is well known in the UK. The Church of England has been in decline for years. If it had more people like Calvin Robinson, then it might once again, have an impact on the direction in which the UK is going.
Search for anything that features him on youtube. I can guarantee its worth listening to.

I love your presentation, heart, and zeal. I will be listening to you more. This country, and this state is going bonkers. I'm almost 70 and have been a Christian since Jr high. I went to a Bible College. Today, many of those I went to college with have gone extremely progressive in the faith and "off skiis". I've always been what does the Bible say believer. This recent generation has really gone off track with the faith. From the past, Billy Graham and Walter Martin were my encouragement. Today, it's M. Winger, M. Daugherty, A. Robyn is correct when she says celebrating the so called Abrahamic religions can bring "us" together. It can bring us together like the Tower of Babel, and like the chaff, when separated from the wheat, is brought together for judgement.

20min into this and finding it to be a good video. Good critique. Substantive, illuminating, and edifying. Love the way Nate keeps bringing it back to "yeah, but, what does the Bible say". That and Nate repeatedly saying "the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear that is..."and then he pulls up a Scripture. That tells me he's walking in the Spirit during the making of this video. It's 2nd Cor. 10:5 and 1st Jn. 4:1 at work.

Secular progressive ideology is built upon "my truth" and "lived experience". It applies to "progressive" Christianity, too. It's not difficult to see why you can't pin any two down on exactly what they collectively believe.

I was glad Calvin spoke up and said he didn't understand Robyn; I didn't either. Most of it was nonsensical.
