I’m a psych major and have been really digging into dementia since I’ve learned a bit about it. It’s incredibly interesting to me.

My mom seems to have many symptoms from all of them. For years my step dad complained my mom was getting forgetful. Then after he passed she had a complete personality change. She did what she wanted to do and when she wanted it. It was like she was finally released from being bossed around my my step dad and no one could tell her anything. She stopped caring how others thought of her, said very rude things to people, that cost her friendships. And she was scammed nearly broke because she refused to listen to everyone telling her a young man she befriended was scamming her. I finally had to threaten to call the cops on him to leave her alone. Then she went into a depression and nearly starved herself to death, after her hip replacement and her damn dr sent her home with no one there and no pain meds. same dr who let her suffer with a fractured hip for 4 months before i got her to see a new dr. Same Dr who left her with untreated skin cancer for a year. She then spent the worst of covid in a seniors home. I live the other side of the country and i nearly died from covid so it was a longer recovery and i could not get out to see her right away. Family member disposed of all her belongings without permission. Then she had a serious fall in may and shattered her other hip and lost the last year of her memory and many other things. And was having hallucinations. I knew right away something was very wrong. My mom was losing her memory for some things but with being prompted she would remember. They then declared her incompetent, with out even finding out what the sudden decline was from. Again her old Dr who had not even seen her in over a year and was told never to go near her again. And family who tired to take control of her and tried to block me from going to see my mom. I spent 4 months calling everyone i could think of to help mom and find a way there. Then she got angry with the family members because she wanted to see me and they did things to prevent it for no damn good reason. Instead of caring about her medical needs, they were more concerned with again selling and disposing of her belongings. Because she was upset and told them off, something she did not even remember doing the next day, they cut off her phone and abandoned her in the hospital. She had no one to do anything for her and no way to reach out anymore. I finally got there and spent a week getting things ready to bring her home. She was left with a bedroom set and a small suitcase of clothes. They sold and donated everything. She knew me then and the first week i had her home, then just over a week went by and i walked into her room in the morning and she asked who i was. Now mostly my daughter and i are just staff. And she had become increasingly grumpy and has assaulted us a few times. On top of everything i am now grieving the loss of my mom and my best friend. I am so angry with her dr and the family for not caring enough to check into what was going on, if she had proper care would she be this bad and go down hill so fast. Now getting her to do anything is near impossible as she just thinks we are bossy and telling her what she can and cant do. This person now in my home is no longer my mom and im struggling with that. And i will never forgive my family. They act like im ungrateful they stepped up and took over disposing of all my families things. 4 generations of mementos and antiques. Some very valuable and with great meaning, were given away or donated or allowed to be stolen by my moms neighbors.. The rest was sold for peanuts including her home just because the wanted to be done with it. Good christian people they are, to help my mom be left with nothing. And im ungrateful.

I use kratom for pain, and found I had more clarity, fell less, better mood, less anxious, etc. I think it could be helpful, and a better alternative to l dopa. There's a misconception that it gets you high, but it doesn't. I researched it and nurses had told me about it as well. I think it should be looked into.

You know It got me thinking, having studied psychology at Alison Institute in Ireland and having attained my Diploma in Psychology their, I can say that Psychologically our character is generally a build up and composition of developmental psychology that our environments and people around us have shaped us into, this developmental psychology continues throughout our entire lives to continually, (together with personal choices) mold us into our older and more matured selves. With dementia, have your whole life in some cases scrubbed from your memory would make us no more than an infant toddler again. For those that have experienced a painful life it could be a blessing to them, for those that have had a happy and fruitful life it would obviously be a of us try so hard to educate and grow ourselves into becoming more knowledgeable and wise human beings only in some cases to have it stripped away, but not just that we also have the deep love we feel from long established relationships stripped away from us where we no longer feel love towards the one's we cared about as we have no memories to support that love. Dementia is an evil and cruel disease. I hope one day humanity see's a day where this affliction upon our specie is nothing but what it stood for a lost memory in life's existence.

Coffee and dark chocolate helps with mild anxiety. I have ADHD, but it wasn't bad until I was on antidepressants. They actually caused my depression. Drs told me 15 years later . I had a small stroke. Now idk if the side effects are causing neurological problems, or the side effects of the antidepressants
