This video explores the discrimination and struggles that Chicanas experienced in the Chicano Movement in the late 60's and early 70's and how they reacted to them. Many turned to feminism and Chicana student organizations as a means to push back against the discrimination and make their voices heard in the patriarchal movement that did not understand the importance of addressing the intersectional experiences of its members. Part of the fall 2020 semester of "Intro to Chicanx/Latinx Histories" (Hist 17CH at Pomona College).

Awesome video! One of my Mexican American Studies students found this and sent it to me and it covers so much! Good work!

This is a really good video but the word “women” is repeatedly mispronounced and sounds like the singular, “woman.” It loses credibility when a simple mistake is repeated over and over.
