What Prompted The Growing Chorus To Cancel Canada Day Celebration?

In response to the recent discoveries of 215 Indigenous children’s remains, several Canadian cities have scrapped their Canada Day celebrations. Recently, as many as 751 more unmarked graves were found at Marieval Indian Residential School in Saskatchewan.

This is not a reason to cancel Canada Day.
All countries have a darks idea to their history. It's not a reason to spit on the country.
Canada is one of the best countries to live in the world currently. Horrors of the past do not "cancel" what the country is today.
Now I agree that Canada needs to deals with its past. But not by shaming what the country is today.

My question is how does this solve anything ? Ok so I don’t wear red, and don’t celebrate Canada Day. Does that mean by tomorrow everything is good and dandy? We are so quick to hit the cancel button nowadays and it’s simply because we are way too connected. Everyone is living someone else’s life and nobody feels they can live theirs without the possibility of judgement. When there is a problem you investigate the problem. To be fair Canada has changed a lot from their past the country has accepted more refugees voted a liberal leader atones for its past and also keeps good relationship with India (more Indian students visit Canada and stay there) but that doesn't change much with recent findings hope all goes in peace ☮️
