What a great idea, I was considering cutting a hole to make my mower [intended to be used with a bag/chute] side-discharge, but this seems a whole lot easier. Right now I'm running it with a hole drilled through the backplate through which I've run a bungee cord but of course that means you get pelted with grass clippings the entire time and if you hit a stone or something it's not particularly safe lmao. I'm going to try this, thanks.

Great idea- saved me from cutting a hole in the side as I got a free mower for deep areas of lawn.

I am totally trying this. I had 2 mowers but 1 was kinda junk so I gave it to someone that needed 1 and kept getting screwed over when trying to buy used. Thanks for sharing this truck. 👍🏼👍🏼

Ingenious idea...and it works! I have a Honda HRX mower. I like everything about it except the lack of a side discharge.(what were they thinking?). If the grass is at all wet (or even damp), it clogs quickly. My solution was to attach a line to the back cover and bring it up to the handle where I could open up the cover as much or as little as I wanted. But as others have noted you do get pelted that way, and it still clogs sometimes anyway. So I bought one of these ducts at Lowes for about $15. I got the 6" size (all they had) and found it just about fits. I had to secure it on with duct tape, but once I did it works like it was custom-designed for it. If the duct tape isn't up to the job, should be easy to screw it on more permanently, but so far it's doing just fine. I love simple and elegant solutions like this!

This is an awesome and ingenious idea. I fashioned my clipping deflector for my outdated mower. It now has a new life
