The guy's voice is underrated imo. He sounds like a blend of every dubbed male anime protagonist out there. Such detail, and a definite earworm.

I love how Monika comes across as being annoyingly clingy rather than a complete psycho

I’d love this as an actual animated series. Maybe it could feature the girls and Jeffrey having all sorts of cartoony misadventures as he gradually warms up to life in DDLC. The cartoony ways the girls’ deaths are shown in the intro could be thrown in as actual events that happen in episodes - they wouldn’t be straight up lethal (the girls would be fine afterwards) but they’d basically be gone for the rest of that episode (and the next few in Natsuki’s case, as her injuries would still have to heal because… broken arm.)

I dunno, I just like the idea of a DDLC animated series that *isn’t* strictly about all the horror stuff… I especially like this video and how Monika’s portrayed as being harmlessly yet annoyingly clingy :)

the voice acting for Jeffrey is spot on, just beaming with personality in a way that really works with the whole concept of him being a cool streamer in an unfortunate situation.

It amazes me how something I've never seen before could give me so much nostalgia.

This works really well. I love the touch of how the other girls are shown in a way that reflects their deaths, but are non-lethal versions of them.

I love how she does the Crash Bandicoot dance at the end, but instead of a goofy face it's a creepy corrupted one. That's a real shout out to old school gamers

Besides the small details here and there, I really like how energetic Monika is in this one as if she is finally able to talk face to face with the only real person that she knows after being condemned in a false reality for who knows how long.

Plot Synopsis: Jeffrey Carson is your average gamer, techwiz and all around wannabe cool guy. He buys a suspicious PC dating Sim at a Thrift Store out of morbid curiosity. He runs the game on his PC, only to be sucked into the world of the game. There he meets Monika, one of the programs/routes in the game immediately falls in love with Jeffrey. She traps him in the game, but Jeffrey quickly notices how unfinished the game appears. There are areas and prompts in the game that look incomplete. Jeffrey tries to escape, much to the anger of Monika who stops him at every turn. Anger turns into sadness and self-loathing as Monika reveals the truth. She used to have friends. Her fellow routes Sayori, Natsuki, and Yuri, but one day. Their code was mysteriously deleted from the game leaving Monika all alone for years. She realized her mistake and let's Jeffrey leave. Jeffrey promises that they can still be friends as he returns to his room. All this.... was episode 1. Episode 2 starts a few days after this. Monika can now freely access Jeffrey's computer and the internet, but still misses her friends. After doing some research on Boggle, she believes the missing code of her friends might be floating online somewhere. She insist Jeffrey help her, him being a gamer/techwiz. He reluctantly agrees as long as there's no funny business. There's of course funny business as Monika transports Jeffrey to cyberspace, but as a sign of trust gives him a friendship I mean Force Reset Bracelet. As long as he's connected to the internet in some fashion and it's on his person, with the push of a button. Jeffrey will be safely transported back to his room. From here on out Jeffrey and Monika go on wacky adventures across cyberspace. To forums, video-sharing sites, and yes video games. Looking for any leads on the missing code of Monika's friends.

I personally didn't know this was a parody of an already existing cartoon. Which makes it even better imo

The worst thing about this video is that now I actually want this as a show. Jokes aside, this is an amazing video, 10/10.

Idk why but the way the VA for Jeffrey sang "Is there a way to hit restart" lives in my head rent-free.

I like how they made the characters' deaths more kid-friendly (i.e Sayori is hanging via the torso and foot rather than by the neck, Yuri with the PB&J's, and Natsuki with a cast around neck and arm)

Monika is actually one of the most believable head over heels obsessed characters I’ve ever seen.

She’s a monster, true but she puts her best self forward and it’s not hard to see her pathology.

I don’t think you realize the sheer amount of pain this brings me, purely because of how accurate it is. Definitely captured the Disney cartoon feel.

I could genuinely see this as being an episodic Disney show. Monika hacks the code on his computer and makes herself a permanent fixture on it, and he can’t afford a new computer because he’s not a particularly big streamer. She joins in any games he plays while streaming and he slowly becomes a more popular streamer due to playing with his “girlfriend” to the point where he could afford a new computer that isn’t possessed by a weird and slightly obsessive code girl (I say slightly cause if it’s a Disney show she’d be toned down), but they’ve bonded enough that he wants her to stick around. Each episode is a new game that they are playing together, and he has to cover up the fact that she’s not a physical person whenever his chat say things like “hey you should get your gf a face cam”.
