Great song. I found it through Australian band Iguana that made a remake of this song around 1968 (that version is also wonderful, I'd definitely recommend it).

Thanks for bringing this song back to YouTube, as for awhile there's been no complete version available (at least that I could find).  A great song--never could understand why it wasn't a bigger success.  Most people I ask have never heard of it, including one well-known radio oldies guy to whom I wrote a request to play on his show.  I lived in L.A. in the fall of 1967 and am guessing that's the only reason I know the song.  I guess the rest of the country wasn't as taken with California as the producers hoped they might be.  Finally...in July of 2007 I took my kids on a trip to California and played this song full-blast on my stereo just before we left to head off to the airport!

If memory holds true; I heard this song in the Wash DC around 1970, and 10 years later saw me moving to Calif, then Arizona in 1989
