In full: Starmer unveils 'plan for change' in major speech

Sir Keir Starmer watered down his clean power promise as he unveiled his “plan for change”.

The Prime Minister is delivering a speech at a film studio in Buckinghamshire to announce new targets to measure Government progress on improving life in the UK.

But the document accompanying the premier’s speech revealed Labour’s promise to deliver clean power by 2030 has been diluted.

It states that the UK will be “on track to at least 95 per cent clean power by 2030”.

In November 2023 Labour promised the nation would be “leading the world with 100 per cent clean power by 2030”. The party’s manifesto promised “clean power by 2030” with no conditions.

People do want change. What they don’t want is the ruination of Britain with thousands of houses built in areas where we don’t need them. Reducing the UK population should be a priority. People do want change, a change of government. A petition of almost 3 million names says so.

This relaunch really illustrates well how little this government has done constructively so and how much damage they've done to growth and stability. He rants about building houses when the rate of population growth being caused by immigration daily gobble up more houses than we could hope to build if we gobbled up every last bit of countryside, with nothing in the way of land left to grow the crops needed to feed this growing population. They just want to kill our farms instead.
