The fact that I'm planning on being an entertainer on YouTube means that these episodes are really important to me. And I just realized something while typing this comment, *_YOU_* tube, is starting to become anything but that.

The thing about YouTube Red and the lack of communication with independent creators is that YouTube isn't particularly interested in those creators. YouTube is primarily interested in chasing the corporate music and movie dollars. I'm certain all the details of YouTube Red were communicated to those corporations well in advance. If the independent creators make more money with Red that will be a pleasant side effect rather than a goal of the process.
This is also why the copyrights claim system isn't going to get better anytime soon. The system is set up to favor those corporations that they are interested in working closely with, and they aren't going to upset that apple cart by changing the system to be more fair to independent content creators.
