He is remarkably restrained in his thoughts towards Keane. I'm delighted for him that his son is such a global star. Good things come to good people.

With the form Haaland is in, looks like his legacy can live on in what might become the greatest Norwegian footballer of all time (edit, returning to this comment 8 months later after erling broke several scoring records and won a treble so yeah looks like he’s clear of Olé already at the age of 23 lol)

He's instilled the same qualities of humility into his son. Good job

I'm a United fan, but this guy is a real nice person, and it would be real sad to see his son playing great football against us.. though would like to wish him the best and a great long career ahead..

It's so ironic that solksjaer was one of the managers responsible for getting haaland to where he is today

It is well known that Keane and Ferguson both had a nasty edge to them. It is what took them to the top of their profession.

That kick from Roy Keane was criminal. Really unfair he did not get the punishment that fits the horror of that tackle. Am glad haaland seems tonhave moved on and has been rewarded by having a world class striker for a son

Top player! I use to watch haaland, cooper, woan etc when I was younger at the city ground! Good days and good luck to Erling, looks like a machine and him vs Mbappe now! New era

When Keane got injured in '97 it was because HE challanged Haaland. Keane's injury wasn't Haalands fault, it was just a by-product of a rash challenge by Keane in which he did damage to his own ligament whilst trying to foul Haaland. Therefore there was no need for revenge regarding the injury itself. If Kean's reason for revenge is because Haaland shouted something to him while he was on the ground, then I think that is a pathetic and disgraceful reason for trying to break Haaland's leg. Pathetic, disgraceful and completely unjustified. I bet Keane is gutted now that Haaland's son plays for City because every time Keane is a TV pundit for a City game he (and the rest of the Country) will be reminded of what a totally 'shit bag' thing he did. He should be embarrassed for the rest of his life.

That’s absolutely crazy, i’m a man utd fan from france since 98 and a 98/99 shirt gift from london by my cousin.
I love Roy Keane and his personality but BUT BUT this created a monster, keane vs haaland father, and then the phenomemon norwegian viking son signed for the rivals.
I’m afraid for man utd defenders when they will face him, revenge for the father is a thing that anybody who loves his father will do, even facing death so imagine on the field…
By the way, awful management since Sir Alex departure, there’s no more red devils and theatre of dreams…

It will be so funny watching haaland bang in goals against utd and Roy Keane is one of the pundits 😂

As an Irishman I find this appalling. Especially since Keane has not shown any form of remorse. How he’s hailed a hero in some quarters is beyond me and the greatest player the country has produced. Ahead of the Brady, McGrath, The Two Whelan’s ect ect.
Keane’s tacked was a cowardly low act.

"For eight years I wasn't injured....coincidence or not"
Pathetic lie. Keane's behavior was out of order completely....
But it is strange if Keane ended his career by kicking him in the right knee, when the "uninjured" for eight years' Haaland's chronically problematic left knee (strapped up as you can see clearly @ 1:13 in the video) was the one that ended his career. It was the left knee that ended his career, not the right that Keane hit.
He stayed on the pitch after Keane's tackle, he played for Norway that mid-week he played again for 68 minutes of City's next league game against West Ham (and got carded).
He had surgery on his left knee that summer. NOTHING done on the right.
The knee Keane hit was not harmed at all, ultimately....take it from Haaland's own quote to the BBC the next day
"I'm only glad my leg was off the ground, OTHERWISE he would have done me a lot of damage."
He claims that his other knee (the already problematic one) was twisted and that is "probably" what happened which is nonsense. If that destroyed the already injured left knee, why did he not grab it in pain? or favor it? or leave the pitch? or play two more games?
The video speaks for itself....his left knee does not twist at all and he is already leaping up to avoid Keane....there is not twisting to the left knee, no contact with it, and it is already off the ground.

Bunch of nonsense. Keane's terrible tackle was bad enough....Haaland trying to blame Keane obliquely for ending his career is disgraceful as well.
Haaland was not some classy, gentlemanly player during his premier leagues he was a dirty, niggling player, lunging in two-footed, throwing elbows....
Don't believe it? Just look for "Erling & Alfie Haaland | Father & Son react to two footed tackles and old videos!"
Even Erling says, a couple of times "What are you doing?!?!"

Let's get one thing straight though a lot of people are saying that because Keane did this to Haaland it stopped Erling Haaland signing for United but honestly that's not the reason. The reason Erling Haaland chose city and wouldn't go to United is because he has ambition, wants to win trophies and doesn't want to play for a club that's finished.

I heard that Alf carried on playing after that injury, real shame. I liked Keane as a player and as a Pundit. But going above the knee in a challenge like that is a disgrace and ending a man's dream career like that is even worse.

I would like to think that Alfie had some influence in his son signing for Man City, despite Solskjaer´s efforts, make things taste a little sweeter for him, I hope
