As an android user, and someone who has used a Pebble Time for the past 2 years, I'm actually excited about this watch. While it has the same form factor as the Blaze, that's about where the similarities stopped. I bought a blaze watch when I wanted something for sleep tracking and HR monitoring. However it wasn't water proof and it was plastic and cheap. This follows the metal trend of pretty much all other smartwatches. Additionally, Pebble has been great as a compliment to a phone, not a miniature replacement on your wrist. I see the Fitbit Ionic filling the same role.

Plus, as you've pointed out in previous videos, all of the android wear and Samsung smart watches are round and defeat the purpose of the smartwatch because it restricts the amount of information available to the user when you try and do anything outside of stare at the watchface.

I agree that comparing the Fitbit Ionic to Apple Watch isn't really a contest though. Apple Watch Series 2 is better in nearly every way, especially with a lot of the changes with WatchOS 4. However, the simplicity and added battery life will win a lot of people over, especially at a lower price point. Keep in mind, Pebble Time had a ton of iOS users, at $250, and their smartwatch was basically just a notification tray on your wrist.

The only thing fitbit has going for them is battery life and I like the continuous heart rate monitoring. They should just add a fitbit app to the apple watch and charge a monthly fee.

I really like the feature list. I mostly use my Apple Watch (Series 2) for tracking sports. And the Fitbit is fully cross-platform.

My mom has the Fitbit blaze while I have the Apple Watch series 2 and for some reason she loves it 😂 it seems very laggy

If the AW3 adds sleep tracking and 4 days of battery live I'll buy one. If they introduce a blood oxygen sensor and up the fitness game I'm in. The fitbit is a slightly different product for a slightly different market. If apple doesn't add those features I'm going with fitbit for the superior health tracking. As I said slightly different markets, but I suspect that will change.

I was planning on buying the Pebble Time 2 before Fitbit bought out the company and pre-orders were canceled. Is this really the best they could do after the Pebble acquisition? Yeah... No thanks. Now I'm just waiting for the new Apple Watch to come out so I can buy that or the (hopefully) price reduced AW Series 2.
