Im just about to get into air dry clay & happen to have dishwasher safe modpodge. With that I wouldnt need another layer of the acrylic seal, Im guessing?!

Does the terracotta air dry clay work in the same way as traditional terracotta plant pots? The reason a lot of gardeners and houseplant lovers use terracotta pots is it absorbs water so it keeps the soil moist for much longer, which is great for the plant. If you seal inside, I presume that’d prevent it from holding any moisture? That’s the main pro of terracotta pots. Unless the air dry version isn’t meant to work in the same way?

I usually just paint them the colour I like then once dry seal with yacht varnish.
