I upgraded in December from my trusty S970, no trade in; had a truley excellent price match from Tony. I've been a loyal customer for over 25 years.
I'm really enjoying this instrument, my 1st & probably final flagship arranger keyboard - much exploration to do, good for my brain. I'm 72 years old.
I have a quality 88 key midi controller should I need to go for extra notes.

So dissapointed in Genos 2 I was so looking foward to it, Owning Genos 1 I think the design was plain lazy full stop why not something premium like aliminium/wood combination and not plastic , and what about style creator? is it still the same? As for sound I`m hearing no improvments apart from the fm engine

I'm looking at the upper right portion of this KB. It's blank black plastic. I think it would be great place for a matrix of buttons --- like more pads + more.

Practically identical screen to my psr sx900. I hope Yamaha can produce a better demo than gushing about 1980s DX7 sounds in a $7000 + board? Generally love Bonner vids but hmmm…

Loved the Top Gun theme, brilliant. Was a bit cold on the new Genos 2 launch from Yamaha's stream but it's growing on me. I can hear they've improved the sound quality another level (not that it wasn't already good in Genos 1). Just would like to see how they may have improved the midi sequence song recording function. I've always found this frustrating (unless i'm using it wrong - don't get me wrong i'm not expecting Logic Pro or Ableton on the in-built screen, just something better than click 'record' and hope you get it all right in one take🤣)

The Genos had significantly more improvements compared to the Tyros 5 than Genos 2 compared to the first Genos.

Genos remains a nice product, but I expected more innovation for a next generation flagship. When you look at how quickly synthesizers innovate at a much lower price. Perhaps this is a bad example, but much in Genos 2 has remained the same. The innovations are nice, but you would expect them in a mid-range workstation such as the PSX-S900. I also have difficulty calling the Yamaha Arranger keyboards Workstations when you compare them with the competitors. Anyway, define workstation.
Why is the Unison and Accent functionality not included that is present in the PSR-SX600, for example, and even better. More options to edit your voices, create your own arpeggios, even more voices, 61 and 88 key versions, just to name a few

I remember last year I watched a video of you playing the Top Gun theme on either a Yamaha PSR-SX700
or SX900 which I also thought sounded amazing for a Yamaha PSR keyboard. But in this one the DX7
bell sounds add a nice touch, there is no way I could afford a Genos 2 though but I do have DX7 sounds
as part of Halion 7 and I also have the free Dexed VST. If I had gone through with buying a Tyros 5 a PSR-SX700
or SX900 I wouldn't have regretted my decision, maybe I might reconsider it in the future as I'm sure keyboards like
Tyros 4, Tyros 5 and the original Genos will become cheaper.

Having used Yamaha products since the late 70's electones and subsequent keyboards, it's always been the case that an upgrade is just that normal. From time to time, there's a leap..ie Tyros, then, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and then a leap to the Genos...and I'm sure Genos 3 is sitting on a designers work top somewhere. If you've ever brought a car, mobile phone, or some other gizmo, there's always going to be a 'next version'. My view...if you've got the money get one, if you haven't stick with Genos, if you are poorer still, stick with the SX900 which I own. A great budget instrument and there'll be an upgrade soon the software for that soon I'm sure. As one of the old school, would have loved to have 'organ world' easily available!! Great demo Tony!

This seems to be more of a marketing exercise than a redesign. Slap a 2 on it with some blinking lights and add a grand to the price.
