As a Dodgers fan, I preferred that they sign Teocar Hernandez instead. Teo has been a great player for the Dodgers on and off the field. They can save the money and go and get Roki Sasaki from Japan and solidify the lineup for next year. Just a thought but the Dodgers management should consider giving Trevor Bauer and Julio Urias a second chance.

Soto will land in New York, both the Yankees and Mets are able to afford his salary demands in AAV. Also, soto said he wants to stay on the east coast, New York has one of the largest Dominican communities in the u.s.

are the Dodgers going to give Soto 600+ Million after giving Ohtani 700 Million? i doubt it. if that happens then the league is truly out of control

The Twins just saved 1.6 in payroll and a roster spot by kirilloff retiring, fact was he was going to be nonetendered.

Wish the best for AK, I loved it when he was a hot hitter and he seemed like a genuinely great guy. Sucks he was even more injury prone than Buck cause he had such a high m ceiling

Ohtani came from Japan which is 4th largest
GDP. He brought so many corporate sponsor deals (along with Yoshi) and 'global' shirt sales etc that allegedly accounted for 500mil in his first year. Soto on the other hand came from Dominican Rep where their gdp is approx 1/40 of Japan. As corporation running perspective 1) doubt that Soto will bring as many corporate deals as Ohtani 2) doubt that his shirts will sell as much be Soto doesn't have as many global fans.
I'd never pay Soto as much (he is young and a great player, don't get me wrong).

The problem with the Dodgers is the contract structure; Ohtani had the luxury of a back ended deal because he easily has the most sellable profile in baseball. Soto doesn’t have that.

even IF Boone wasn't technically at fault, i think it's time for a change in leadership. i think he's taken the Yankees as far as they're going to go under him
