Calyx & Teebee blast into 2020 with a brand-new addition to their Plates series, following an extensive US tour which saw them debut 'Big Sound' to a chaotic audience at EDC Orlando. ‘Big Sound’ once again reminisces on when the underground drum & bass scene was developing alongside its ingenuity. With elongated bass notes and moody low-end subs sitting beneath snapping hi-hats, this composition is a maze and one which is underpinned by Calyx & Teebee's mastery. Cranking snares give the cut an authentically old-school feel, whilst its twisted MC-styled vocal snippet creates a digital call to arms.
A serious offering to the Ram Records catalogue, but also a drumming club-anthem, ‘Big Sound’ is a sure-fire way to whip crowds into a frenzy. They again prove the authenticity of Plates and why it’s received such widespread support from the likes of Mixmag, Resident Advisor and UKF.
